Catching up

Being a stay at home mom has a bunch of advantages and disadvantages.  One of the advantages is being able to go on little day trips out and about.  The disadvantage, you don't have time to take pictures or keep up with your blog.  Nathan is nearly 2.  I'm ready to step back into the fray, however slowly it may happen.  Here is a handful of photo projects I've done while attempting to be an awesome mom and an awesome photographer. 

March - The Littleton Museum

I always get "itchy" about getting back out there in the spring.  On a brilliantly warm sunny day we headed out to the Littleton museum.  It's hard to find, but such a cute place to spend half a day. I ended up taking most pictures of Nathan, because....well, I'm his mom and that's my job now :).

February - Finding creativity in the middle of winter

February is the hardest month of the year for me, as I know it is for a lot of people.  It's cold, so you don't want to go out, but then you stay inside WAY too much and get cabin fever.  Also, there's no light, and little money (taxes & Christmas bills).  Every year I try to poke my little gopher head out of the cold ground and find something to inspire me.  I almost always find it at the Denver Botanic Gardens - my second home.  So here are some of my pictures from trying to find art amoungst the seemingly deadness of winter.

13 Jan 2015 - pickles

13 Jan 2015. Making Pickles. I love pickles. I LOVE them. Even more, I love making my own out of fresh hot house cucumbers. While I was rinsing the salt off a cucumber that I was about to pickle, I snapped a shot. Not exciting, but the little things in life sometimes get us through the winter.

2015 - Creativity Resoltuion

My New Years Resolution......to be inspired.  I got a book on Alfred Stieglitz from the library, and saw a selfie that he did in his office.  I was inspired to do one in my kitchen.  It's kind of my office.  So a caveat should be given about this photo: I was having a really bad day.  I won't go into specifics, but instead of hide it, I decided to pose exactly how I was feeling.  Tired and defeated.  Truth in photos.  Here it is.  2015 here I come.

I've known this couple longer than most of my couples.  I met Jennifer last summer while she was in the wedding of my other bride Jennifer at the Evergreen Lake House.  These two are so sweet and fun, it was such a pleasure working with them all this time.  Congratulations you two!!  It was a beautiful wedding!
